Operating Board President

The Operating Board President manages the leadership team of the geographic Operating Board to set a coordinated roll-out of the global strategy and annual strategic plan into the geographic regions with fiscal management. Represent the constituency to the global board. Conducts the meetings of the operating board and has primary responsibility for the geography’s welfare. 

PLEASE NOTE: The Operating Board President is also a non-voting Director on the HBA Global Board, and therefore follows the formal HBA Global Board Nominating Process to be vetted/appointed.


Strategic responsibilities 

  • KPIs (including financial/growth targets) and regional success metrics
  • Translate global strategy into an operational strategy in the regions; accountability for roll out and execution within the geography
  • Development and oversight of Operating Board members
  • Bringing geography-level insights to the HBA Board for evolution of the strategy over time


 Tactical responsibilities

  • Planning and leadership of Operating Board meetings 
  • Creation of annual strategic plan, including operating strategy 
  • Represent the geography on the HBA Board
  • Budget planning 
  • Coaching and feedback of team members
  • Support thought leadership as needed

Meeting requirements

  • HBA Global Board retreats (2x annually in-person, others virtual) In-person operating board retreat: cadence driven by board strategic retreats. Likely Feb and July/Aug
